Polysteel

Characteristics

Melting point:
145 - 165C
Specific gravity:
0,91
Abrasion Resistance:
good
Elongation at break:
approximately 17%

Made from high strength monofi lament fi ber, Oliveira Polysteel ropes are smaller, lighter and easier to handle than conventional polypropylene
ropes.

Using carefully selected raw materials, and manufactured in-house using the latest
extrusion methods, Polysteel eight strand ropes can be used for mooring vessels, as well as towing vessels and barges at short distances.

Polysteel rope does not absorb water, making it easy to handle under all weather conditions, especially freezing conditions. The rope’s sturdy eight strand construction is ideal for storage on a winch drum.

The Oliveira ropes are produced in the Oliveira factory in Paredes, Portugal, in accordance with ISO 2307:2005. The breaking forces indicated are referring to
the strength in the ropes itself, without efficiency losses due to splicing or other end terminations.
